UAE, Egyptian leaders eye closer joint Arab action

CAIRO — President of UAE Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan met on Sunday his Egyptian counterpart Abdulfattah El-Sisi to discuss bilateral and regional issues.

The meeting, held at Al-Alamein International Airport VIP lounge, explored the many opportunities to enhance the strategic partnership between the UAE and Egypt, especially in the economic and development fields, said Egyptian presidential spokesperson Bassam Al-Rady.

The meeting also touched on the importance of strengthening joint Arab action and unity in facing the challenges witnessed by the Arab region, Ambassador Al-Rady noted in a statement.

It pointed out that they also exchanged views on several issues and dossiers of common concern and the latest regional and international developments, stressing the need for dialogue, understanding and diplomacy to settle disputes and crises.

They affirmed their support for all efforts to reach a permanent solution to crises in the region's countries that contribute to boosting the foundations of security and stability. — Agencies
