August 13, 2022

MADRID — One person was killed and 17 others injured in a stage collapse at a music festival near Spain's eastern city of Valencia early Saturday, according to Spanish TV.

The incident took place at the Medusa Festival due to high winds that hit a speed of 85 km/hour in the early hours of Saturday, the TV added.

Of the 17 injured, three suffered serious injuries and 14 had minor wounds, it added.

The festival was consequently suspended due to bad weather in a bid to keep the safety of attendees and artists, organizers said in a statement. — Agencies
