MADINAH — The Mayoralty of Madinah has ordered a contractor to re-implement the asphalting works on the airport road at his own personal expense after the detection of defects in the asphalting works.

The contractor is bound to carry out the re-asphalting works in accordance with the technical conditions and specifications. It was found through follow-up and field monitoring that there were defects in the implementation work, and hence the contractor has to remove the surface layer of asphalt and to re-implement the works in accordance with the approved technical specifications, the mayoralty said.

It also confirmed that the procedure comes within the framework of following up the implementation of projects with the application of quality standards and technical specifications in all implemented projects.
