No one hurt as plane skids off runway while landing at Jeddah airport

JEDDAH –A plane skidded off the runway at King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) of Jeddah on Wednesday morning.

All the five crew members who were on board the Gulfstream 400 flight are safe and sustained no injuries, according to the administration of the airport.


The airport management clarified that the accident happened on runway 34 L A5 at 8:10 a.m. and the reason is yet to be ascertained.

The emergency rescue teams immediately reached the spot and carried out the necessary procedures while a specialist team started investigating the cause of the accident, the airport management said while adding that the departures and arrivals of other flights were not affected at all by the accident and they are going on smoothly as usual.
