Saudi Gazette report

MAKKAH — The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) clarified on Monday the method it uses to verify the identity of the lost and hospitalized pilgrims in the Holy Sites.

The Jawzat confirmed that it verifies the identity of lost pilgrims and hospitalized hospitals through mobility e-services teams, in addition to biometric verification devices "fingerprints".

It also indicated that it handles the report it receives from the competent and partner authorities and processes them in a timely manner.

It is noteworthy that the seasonal administrative committees of the Jawazat at Makkah entrances have issued 27 administrative decisions against a number of violators for transporting unauthorized persons to perform Hajj.

The decisions included imprisonment, a fine, defamation, and the deportation of the non-Saudis involved in transporting the violators, in addition to a judicial demand to confiscate the vehicles that were used to transport violators.
