Blast kills two, wounds 28 in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD At least two civilians were killed and 28 others injured in a blast that occurred in a market in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province on Monday.

The Afghan provincial department of information and culture in Nangarhar, confirmed that two civilians were killed and 28 others including five members of the Islamic Emirate forces.The blast went off through a magnetic mine targeting the vehicle of the head of the district health department, as per initial police reports.

The wounded were transported to the provincial government hospital. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the blast.

The blast came two days after two people were killed and seven others received injuries when an explosive-laden vehicle detonated near a temple of Sikh religion in Afghan capital city Kabul. — Agencies
