Sheikh Dr. Al Al-Sheikh, Sundberg call for spreading tolerance and dialogue

Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh at his office here Monday received Sweden's Special Envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Intercultural and Interfaith Dialogue Ulrika Sundberg. Anti-terrorism coordinator in the Swedish Foreign Ministry Erika Ferrerand, and Swedish Ambassador Niclas Trouvé were also present.

RIYADH — Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh at his office here Monday received Sweden's Special Envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Intercultural and Interfaith Dialogue Ulrika Sundberg.

Anti-terrorism coordinator in the Swedish Foreign Ministry Erika Ferrerand, and Swedish Ambassador Niclas Trouvé were also present during the meeting.

The minister noted that Saudi Arabia has the responsibility of spreading the principles of moderation, discarding radicalism and extremism, and respecting all humans, in implementation of the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah.

He noted that Saudi Arabia has suffered from terrorism and incurred a lot of damage, and it is among the first countries that faced terrorism, highlighting the importance of joining global efforts to combat terrorism and eliminate its root causes through teaching people their religions without extremism, hate or radicalism.

Sundberg called for increasing efforts enhancing cooperation in the anti-terrorism and spreading tolerance and dialogue among followers of various faiths.

The anti-terrorism coordinator said that Saudi Arabia is a big supporter for anti-terrorism efforts, expressing her appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s great contributions to supporting the anti-terrorism fund. — SPA
