JEDDAH — The Secretariat General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the release and repatriation of 163 Houthi prisoners of war as part of the Saudi humanitarian initiative.

The OIC also praised earlier releases designed to contribute to close the dossier of war detainees and support peace efforts in Yemen.

OIC secretariat general also praised the efforts being exerted by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to coordinate the return of prisoners of war and the UN efforts.

It also expressed hope that such efforts and endeavors would continue to maintain the truce and provide proper circumstances for the Yemeni parties to reach an inclusive political settlement to the Yemeni crisis. — SPA
