RIYADH — President of Saudi Red Crescent Authority Dr. Jalal Bin Mohammed Al-Owaisi received here Monday Regional Director of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in the Middle East and North Africa Dr. Hossam El-Sharkawi and his accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting went over joint cooperation between the authority and the federation, means to develop the long existing partnership between the two sides in humanitarian fields, and exchanging expertise through holding joint training courses and programs.

Dr. Al-Owaisi provided a briefing on the authority’s activities in the fields of paramedics and humanitarian work, commending, at the same time, the humanitarian role of IFRC in offering assistance and coordination with institutions concerned with alleviating the suffering of people of countries affected by disasters.

For his part, Dr. El-Sharkawi said: “Saudi Red Crescent Authority is a main partner of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in several humanitarian fields in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” praising the authority’s paramedics and humanitarian efforts. — SPA
