Saudi Arabia to host steering committee meeting of GlobE Network

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia, represented by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), will host in Riyadh from 15-16 March 2022, the first steering committee meeting of the Riyadh Initiative (GlobE Network)", aiming at strengthening cooperation between anti-corruption law enforcement authorities with the participation of a number of representatives of Members.

President of Nazaha Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous welcomed the first steering committee meeting for the GlobE Network in the Kingdom, which stems from Saudi Arabia's leading global role in all fields.

Al-Kahmous said the Riyadh initiative, which was welcomed and supported by the international community, was an affirmation of the Kingdom's leading role and its belief in the importance of promoting efforts to combat cross-border corruption crimes.

More than 55 countries and 92 anti-corruption authorities around the world have joined the Riyadh Initiative (GlobE Network), which is the most prominent of its kind globally in the field of anti-corruption since its launch in June 2021 at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna.

Spain has been selected as chair of the network and the steering committee, and Saudi Arabia vice-chair.

According to the charter of the network, the steering committee will be composed of the US, China, Russia, Chile, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Nigeria, North Macedonia, South Korea, Romania, Palestine and Zimbabwe. — SPA
