CAIRO — Rapper Marwan Pablo topped Egypt's Twitter trending topics following his sudden announcement of a distinct arrangement for women audience dubbed as "Pink Circle" at his upcoming show in Alexandria on March 18.

The concert organizers also confirmed the construction of watchtowers to prevent harassment, which is common with such big gatherings.

The organizers of Pablo’s concert decided to develop a new technique at the party by allocating a place exclusively for women under the name “Pink Circle”, which is protected and separated from the rest of the audience. This will provide a safe and secluded space for his female audience in an experience that is unprecedented in Egypt's field of party singing, the organizers said.

They said they decided to create a circle for women in each of the three ticket classifications, ranging from general to private, with women having the option to enter the private circle or stand with the general public during the ceremony. In addition to the deployment of special staff to combat harassment, watchtowers have been placed at the venue to oversee the ceremony, which is expected to draw more than 15,000 fans.

This would be Pablo's first performance in Alexandria since announcing his retirement from singing.

The rapper is set to celebrate with his fans the success of his new single Barbary, which topped the most watched list on social media platforms for three days and earned more than two and a half million views on YouTube in record time.

At the same time, Marwan Pablo is preparing for a concert on March 14 as part of the Riyadh Season's festivities, which are organized by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and which also feature Wiggs and Afroto. — SG
