RIYADH — The presidency of the Federation of Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers (FGCCC) officially moved from the Bahrain Chamber to the Federation of Saudi Chambers (FSC), where FGCCC Board of Directors is scheduled Thursday to start its 22nd session under the presidency of FSC Chairman Ajlan Bin Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan.

President of the Omani Chamber of Commerce and Industry Eng. Rida Bin Jumah has been named first vice president, and President of the Qatari Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassem Al Thani is the second vice president.

On the occasion, Al-Ajlan expressed pride in the confidence of the FGCCC, pledging to work hard to develop the federation and enhance its role in realizing the aspirations of GCC economic integration.

Al-Ajlan said: “The Federation of Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers today has an important action program on the joint Gulf economic action, through which it seeks to boost Gulf economic cooperation.

“This is in addition to having projects that deserve to receive the care and interest of all due to the fact that they serve this goal, such as enhancing economic integration, and moving the joint economic action to new aspects to reach the goal of the envisioned economic integration at the Gulf Cooperation Council.”

FGCCC is a federation of chambers of commerce and industry among member countries of GCC and is considered among the most important institutional frameworks that support the private sector in GCC countries, where it has been representing Gulf economic interests since its inception in 1979. — SPA
