RIYADH —
Two mild earthquakes hit the Arabian Gulf, 190 km northeast of the coastal city of Khafji, without any affect on the Saudi borders, according to a statement from the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS).

Tariq Abal Khail, spokesman of SGS, reassured citizens and expatriates that the situation is safe and that there were no casualties or danger caused by the quakes.

“The risk center at SGS had monitored Sunday that the first earthquake, with a magnitude of 4.8 and the second 4.58 on the Richter scale, occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers under the sea, and they were about 190 kilometers away from the Saudi border,” he said.
