Winter at Tantora concerts sold out as organizers plan live broadcasts

January 12, 2022

ALULA — Winter at Tantora, the first festival in the Kingdom celebrating culture, heritage and music is demonstrating its continued appeal this winter with musical events tickets sold out.

The atmospheric Hegra Candlelit Classics on Dec. 24 and 31, 2021, was full to capacity and all Winter at Tantora concerts including the multi-talented Saudi star Abdulrahman Mohamed, Egyptian composer and pianist Omar Khairat, Italian maestro Andrea Bocelli and Lebanese soprano star Magida El Roumi, are sold out.

The events sector has changed significantly since Winter at Tantora first arrived on the scene as Saudi Arabia’s first significant musical and cultural event. This season, Winter at Tantora has been returned under the banner of AlUla Moments and runs to 6 weeks of highly curated programming of heritage, culture, equestrian, and of course music.

The award-winning Maraya, the world’s biggest mirrored building, has had recent enhancements to take its place as one of the region’s most sought after event venues with a capacity of over 500 seats.

Although concerts are sold out, most of the AlUla Moments Presents concerts will be broadcast live on MBC1 TV to ensure fans don’t miss out.

The concerts for Omar Khairat and Andrea Bocelli will be broadcast live on MBC1, MBC1 YouTube channels and AlUla Moments YouTube channels, while Magida El Roumi’s concert will be broadcast later within a month from the concert’s date on Jan. 28. Due to popular demand, AlUla Moments will be presenting further concerts for this season that will soon be announced.

Following Winter at Tantora, AlUla Moments’ calendar is packed with exciting new events and activities for the season covering music, art, heritage, adventure, culture, and food. High-end restaurant experiences include newcomers such as OKTO, Annabel’s, Circolo, Tama at Habitas, and Maraya Social by Michelin starred Chef Jason Atherton.

Invigorating outdoor activities including a series of new and challenging adventure trails and hikes, vintage Land Rover Hegra tours and helicopter tours, stargazing experiences, camel trekking and much more.

AlUla Moments will be inaugurating three other festivals in 2022 — AlUla Arts, AlUla Skies, and AlUla Wellness festival — each tapping into a particular passion point, but with many activities crossing over, visitors will be able to experience a wide variety of exciting activations when they visit. — SG
