KHARTOUM - Sudan's Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok has retracted on Wednesday from submitting his resignation.

Hamdok has been insisting on his decision, as he informed a number of politicians of his intention to resign amid their opposition over his desire to take this step.

According to the sources, Hamdok retracted from his resignation decision after meeting Sudan's ruling council head Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan

It is noteworthy that Hamdok on November 21 signed a new power-sharing agreement with coup leader Gen Abdel Fattah al-Burhan amid ongoing mass protests, as political and civil forces expressed their rejection of the agreement.

The Sudanese Ministry of Health announced that one person killed and at least 123 people injured last Sunday, amid the protests against the agreement between Hamdok and Al-Burhan.

Sudan witnessed mass protests on Sunday, as demonstrators breached the security barriers around the presidential palace, which led the security forces to shot and fire teargas canisters at the protests.

At least 40 people on October 25 died in mass protests against the coup when the military declared a state of emergency and dissolved the civilian leadership.- Agencies
