ADEN — King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) handed over here Friday specialized equipment to test and purify water and combat cholera to the Yemeni Ministry of Water and Environment.

This was part of a project implemented by the KSrelief in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) to monitor water quality in the Yemeni governorates with a high risk of cholera outbreaks.

This comes within the framework of the humanitarian projects being implemented by the KSrelief in the field of water and environmental sanitation in the Republic of Yemen.

In Marib, the Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Center has provided various medical services to 500 individuals of the Yemeni people who lost their limbs during November 2021.

Also, KSrelief continued to combat malaria in the camps for the displaced people in Marib Governorate in cooperation with the National Malaria Control Program at the Yemeni Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Over six days, the KSrelief implemented the first phase of a campaign to distribute 284,115 mosquito-nets, with the participation of 27 field teams in 170 camps and gatherings for the displaced in Marib, targeting 568,220 individuals.

This project comes within the framework of the emergency response implemented by the KSrelief to limit the outbreak and spread of the malaria epidemic in Yemen, by distributing more than 400,000 mosquito-nets to the displaced in a number of governorates.

Meanwhile, KSrelief distributed on Thursday 3,400 winter bags to the needy people in Balochistan Province, Pakistan, benefitting 23,800 individuals. This comes within a winter clothing distribution project for the year 2021. — SPA
