GCC chief condemns Houthi ballistic missile attack on Riyadh

RIYADH — Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf has denounced the Yemeni Houthi militia repeated missile assault on civilians and civil properties in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.

In a press statement issued on Monday, Al-Hajraf dismissed the Houthis ballistic attack as a flagrant violation of all norms and international laws.

He hailed vigilance and efficiency of the Saudi Royal Air Defense Forces which intercepted and downed the Houthi missile.

Al-Hajraf re-affirmed that the GCC states fully stands with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against those who threaten its security, stability and territorial integrity.

The GCC chief called on the international community to take decisive stance and actions to stop the Houthi militia's hostilities against Saudi civilian and vital facilities as well as its threats to the Kingdom's security.

Earlier, the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced that it has intercepted a ballistic missile fired by the Iran-backed Houthi militia towards Riyadh. — SG
