Saudi Arabia, Pakistan sign agreement on labor recruitment

RIYADH — The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development signed an agreement with the Ministry of Pakistanis Abroad and Human Resource Development regarding the employment of workers from Pakistan.

Undersecretary for International Affairs Dr. Adnan Al-Naim signed for the Saudi ministry while Pakistani Ambassador to the Kingdom retired Lt.-Gen. Bilal Akbar signed for his country.

The employment agreement aims to regulate the recruitment of workers and contractual relationships with employers and protect the rights of both sides of the agreement.

The two sides also signed a professional examination agreement between Takamol and the National Vocational and Technical Training Authority in Pakistan. The agreement was co-signed by Dr. Ahmed Yamani, CEO of Takamol, and the Minister of Education of Pakistan Shafqat Mahmood.

The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for the Civil Service Eng. Maher Al-Qasim and Minister of Education of Pakistan Shafqat Mahmoud.

These agreements come within the framework of the ministry's endeavor to strengthen its international partnerships and build its strategic relations locally and internationally to achieve its objectives. — SPA
