JEDDAH –
A Pakistani national has been saved through the prompt intervention of health authorities following an attempt to commit suicide by swallowing a liquid mixture of cement.

The Health Department in Jeddah said that the 30-year-old Pakistani had undergone a 3-hour long operation, and now his condition is fine and stable, Al-Arabiya channel reported.

The medical and technical staff at King Abdulaziz Hospital in Jeddah managed to save the Pakistani worker who attempted to commit suicide by swallowing a liquid substance of cement mixture. The liquid substance became hardened and formed a solid block inside his stomach, which led to complete blockage and severe pains in his abdomen.

The Pakistani was transferred immediately to the emergency room, where all the necessary tests and x-rays were performed before carrying out the surgery.

The cement substance was extracted from his stomach, and the damage to the stomach tissue was repaired through surgical procedures that took approximately three hours, the department sources said.
