Saudi Arabia to hold first full international marathon in March 2022

RIYADH — The Saudi Sports for All Federation, with the direct support of the Ministry of Sports, announced the holding of the first full marathon in Saudi Arabia.

This confirmed the Kingdom’s position as an international sports front and in support of the growth of the sports and tourism economy in the Kingdom.

It is also an effort to encourage all members of society to exercise sports and physical activities on a regular basis, as the sports sector in the Kingdom enjoys unlimited support from the leadership, in line with the plans and objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Under the aegis of the Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal, president of the Saudi Sports for All Federation, Prince Khalid Bin Alwaleed l announced the date of the Riyadh Marathon on March 5, 2022.

The Riyadh Marathon 2022 is the first professional full marathon in the Kingdom approved by the Asian Athletics Federation, as it also includes several carefully designed races to suit all members of society with different abilities and levels of physical fitness. — SPA
