Prince Badr, French counterpart Bachelot eye boosting cultural cooperation

PARIS — Minister of Culture Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan met here Monday with his French counterpart Roselyne Bachelot, as part of his official visit to France as well as his participation in the 41st session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

During the meeting, they discussed enhancing aspects of cultural cooperation between the two countries, including heritage, loan programs, historical Jeddah projects, as well as research and capacity development.

They also agreed on the importance of accelerating steps to draw the map of the Saudi-French partnership for cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Prince Badr praised the strong strategic relations between Saudi Arabia and France in various fields of cooperation, including the existing cultural field, while congratulating the French Minister of Culture on the re-election of Audrey Azoulay as Director-General of UNESCO for a new term of office from 2021 to 2025.

On the Saudi side, the meeting was attended by Vice Minister of Culture Hamed Bin Mohammed Fayez, General Supervisor of Cultural Affairs and International Relations Rakan Bin Ibrahim Al-Touq, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture for International Cultural Relations Eng. Fahd Bin Abdulrahman Al-Kanaan, and Advisor for Public Diplomacy Affairs at the Saudi Embassy in Paris Dr. Abdullah Bin Ali Al-Ahmari. — SPA
