Special prayers for rain held in all Saudi regions

RIYADH — Muslim faithful in all regions of Saudi Arabia on Thursday morning performed special rain-seeking prayers in pursuit of the Prophet's tradition during drought or delayed rainfall.

In Makkah, the prayer was performed at the Grand Holy Mosque and it was attended by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Emir of Makkah Region, among other dignitaries.

In Madinah, the prayer was performed at the Prophet's Holy Mosque where Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Faisal, Deputy Emir of Madinah Region, attended.

In Riyadh, the prayer was held at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in the presence of Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Emir of Riyadh region.

Regional governors and senior officials attended the prayers in all other parts of the Kingdom.

In their sermons, the preachers urged Muslims to repent their sins and pary to Allah Almighty for forgiveness. They advised the people to increase doing good and charitable deeds while supplicating for rain-fall. — SPA
