RIYADH — The World Food Program (WFP) Executive Director David Beasley has praised the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), in providing aid to millions of people around the globe.

He also stressed the WFP’s keenness to work with the Kingdom to help more needy people, especially after the novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), which negatively affected many peoples’ living situation.

This statement came during his visit to the headquarters of KSrelief Monday, where he commended the strategic partnership between the WFP and KSrelief. The executive director said that the relations with the center are becoming more solid due to mutual trust and joint action.

Executive Director David Beasley noted that he looks forward to what can be accomplished through an effective and more comprehensive strategy in the region and around the globe, while taking advantage of the expertise and strengths of the two organizations.

He also expressed regret that delivering humanitarian aid is obstructed in many countries, whereas many people suffer from this act. Beasley hoped that the aid would be given access to the affected people without any obstacles. — SPA
