Coalition forces intercepts, destroys Houthi-fired ballistic missile

JEDDAH — The Saudi-led Coalition to support Yemen's legitimacy has intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia toward the southern Saudi city of Jazan, according to a Coalition statement.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Coalition announced that more than 48 Houthi terrorists were killed in 14 air raids carried out on their sites in Al Jubah and Kassara areas in the Yemeni Marib Governorate

The Arab Coalition also announced Wednesday that more than 82 Houthi terrorists have been killed in 26 air raids on their sites in the Yemeni Marib Governorate.

"The military operations over the past 24 hours destroyed 11 military vehicles and killed more than 82 Houthi terrorists," Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted a Coalition statement on Twitter.

The Coalition affirmed that the Houthi militias are still practicing its "terrorist" attacks against the civilians and hindering medical aid access to the patients in the district.

Meanwhile, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf has condemned the continued terrorist Houthi militia's deliberate and systematic launch of missiles towards Saudi Arabia targeting civilians and civilian facilities, in a flagrant violation of international norms and laws.

The Secretary General praised the Saudi Air Defense’s efficiency and capabilities in intercepting and destroying a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis towards Jazan Wednesdaystressing the GCC countries' solidarity and support for Saudi Arabia against whatever targets its territories, security and stability.

He also reiterated the call on the international community to take immediate and decisive measures to stop these aggressive acts targeting vital and civil facilities and the security of Saudi Arabia.

Also the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen has strongly condemned the terrorist Houthi militia’s recent attempt to target civilians and civilian objects in Jazan City with a ballistic missile.

He also commended the Saudi Air Defense’s efficiency and skills in intercepting and destroying the ballistic missile. Dr. Al-Othaimeen stressed the OIC’s firm position that condemns all the Houthi militia’s terrorist practices, and those who supply it with money and weapons, considering these practices as war crimes.

The Secretary General reiterated the OIC’s support for all measures that Saudi Arabia takes to confront the practices of the terrorist Houthi militia in order to preserve its security, stability and the safety of its citizens and residents.

In Manama, the Kingdom of Bahrain too condemned the launch of a ballistic missile by the terrorist Houthi militia towards Jazan in a terrorist act targeting civilians and civilian objects, praising the efficiency and vigilance of the Saudi Air Defense Forces, which were able to intercept and destroy the missile.

In a statement, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Bahrain's full support for Saudi Arabia and all security measures it takes to maintain its security, stability and territorial integrity, calling on the international community to condemn these ongoing violations by the terrorist Houthi militia. — SPA
