Ministry of Culture inaugurates BIENALSUR Contemporary Art Exhibition in JAX, Diriyah

RIYADH — The Ministry of Culture inaugurated Friday the exhibition of the International Biennial of Contemporary Art of the South BIENALSUR in JAX district in Diriyah under the title “Echoes: A World Between Analogue & Virtual”.

The exhibition was opened in the presence of Anibal Jozami, general director of BIENALSUR and a group of Saudi and international artists and diplomats.

More than 20 artists from 14 countries participate in the exhibition, curated by BIENALSUR’s Artistic Director Diana B. Wechsler from Argentina.

The artworks deal with the following themes: Environmental awareness, ways of living, artistic politics, transit and migrations, and shifting formations, under the supervision of curator Wechsler.

BIENALSUR includes more than 30 works by artists from different nationalities of the world, including five Saudi artists.

Hosted by the Saudi Ministry of Culture, the exhibition will be on display at JAX district in Diriyah on the outskirts of Riyadh until Nov. 15 and at Qasr Khuzam in Jeddah from Nov. 30 until Dec. 30. — SPA
