KSrelief condemns flagrant Houthi violations against civilians in Yemeni district

October 14, 2021

RIYADH — King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) strongly denounced the flagrant and recurrent violations by the terrorist Houthi militia against Yemeni civilians in Al-Abdiyah district of Marib Governorate.

The militia imposed an embargo on Al-Abdiyah starving more than 37,000 people, most of them women, children and elderly, since September.

The KSrelief also condemned the Houthi militia’s targeting of the only hospital in Al-Abdiyah district with ballistic missiles. The continuous bombardment of the district with heavy weapons and UAVs prevented the injured people from receiving treatment .

The militia also hindered the entry of medical supplies and food assistance by closing the only road leading to the district, which already suffers from shortages in basic needs due to the embargo, KSrelief said, adding that this represented one of the most heinous crimes against humanity.

The center called on the UN organizations and international community to open a safe humanitarian passage to deliver humanitarian aid to Al-Abdiyah District, and stand firm against this inhumane crime that is perpetrated by the terrorist Houthi militia violating all international principles and human rights.

KSrelief said the irresponsible acts by the militia prevented humanitarian assistance from reaching those in need. It urged the international community to exert pressure on the militia to stop their continuous and deliberate attacks against children, women and the elderly, and immediately lift the embargo on the district in order to allow the entry of necessary medical and food supplies. — SPA
