MAKKAH — Arafat has ranked first in the list of the highest temperatures recorded in the world, According to Dr. Abdullah Al-Misnad, a former climate teacher in Al-Qassim University.

The professor, who is the founder and chairman of the Committee for the Naming of Distinctive Climate Conditions in Saudi Arabia, revealed that Arafat's region in Makkah recorded the highest temperature in the world in the last 24 hours.

Al-Misnad published on his Twitter account the temperature data, according to the "El Dorado Weather" website, that Arafat in Saudi Arabia has reached 43 degrees Celsius, and it topped the list of the highest recorded temperatures in the world in the past 24 hours.

Al-Misnad also added that the city of Abha registered the lowest temperature among Saudi cities, as it reached 11 degrees Celsius.

It is noteworthy that Arafat is considered the only place between the holy sites that lies outside the Haram borders and mountains surround it and is located between Makkah and Taif.

"There is general weather stability, and the weather in the daytime is hot to moderate and sunny, while the night will be clear and mild to cold in the far north and over the south-western highlands," Al-Misnad said about today’s weather.

On Aug. 31, 2021, Arafat had recorded 50 degrees Celsius, one of the highest temperature on Earth, on Sunday, according to Arabic website Arabia Weather.
