GCC, EU push for political dialogue to end Yemen crisis

RIYADH — The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union (EU) on Sunday threw their weight behind global efforts pushing for a political solution to the crisis in Yemen, based on national dialogue and the Gulf initiative.

GCC Secretary General Nayef Al-Hajraf and the EU's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, amid talks in the Saudi capital, discussed current happenings in the region and around the world, in addition to other matters including climate change and the fight against terrorism.

Efforts to improve the Arab Gulf region's trade and economic ties with the single-currency bloc was among the focal points of the talks, according to a GCC statement. — KUNA
