JAZAN — Media spokesperson for the Civil Defense Directorate in Jazan region Col. Mohammad Al-Ghamdi stated that on Friday the Civil Defense received a number of reports of the fall and scattering of shrapnel in a residential neighborhood in Uhud Al-Masarha governorate of Jazan region.

He further said this happened due to the interception of a booby-trapped drone launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards the Kingdom, which resulted in material damage to a number of houses and shops following the plunge and scattering of the shrapnel.

This damage did not result in any injuries or deaths and the procedures adopted in such cases were immediately implemented, Col. Al-Ghamdi underscored.

Meanwhile, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary-General Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen condemned, in the strongest terms, targeting a residential neighborhood in the Ahad Al-Masharha governorate, Saudi Arabia, by a bomb-laden UAV, which resulted in the damage of some homes after intercepting it.a

The secretary-general also condemned the failed attempt of the terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects in the city of Jazan, Saudi Arabia, with a bomb-laden UAV, praising at the same time the efficiency and skill of the Saudi air defenses, which intercepted and destroyed it before reaching its target.

He called on the international community to take firm positions to stop the continuation of cowardly threats with ballistic missiles and UAVs by the Houthi militia, targeting civilians and civilian objects, stressing the firm position of the OIC, which considers such practices as a blatant challenge to international humanitarian laws and norms.

Dr. Al-Othaimeen affirmed the support of the OIC for all measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to maintain its security and stability and the safety of citizens and residents on its territories.

Arab and Gulf States reacted strongly by condemning the Houthi militia attempts to target residential areas in the Kingdom.

In Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt condemned, in the strongest terms, the Houthi militia's attempt to target residential neighborhoods in Uhud Al-Masharha Governorate in Saudi Arabia, using a booby-trapped drone, which resulted in the damage of a number of homes and civilian property as a result of its interception.

In a statement issued today, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Arab Republic of Egypt stands by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of these heinous terrorist attacks, which represent a violation of the rules of international law and a threat to security and stability in the region, expressing its support for the measures taken by the Kingdom to preserve its security, stability and the safety of its citizens and residents.

In Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned the terrorist Houthi militias’ attempts to attack civilians and civilian objects in Khamis Mushait City, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a bomb-laden drone which was intercepted by the Coalition Forces.

In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC), the UAE reiterated that these deliberate and systematic terror attacks by the Houthis reflect their blatant disregard for the international community and all international laws and norms.

The UAE urged the international community to take an immediate and decisive stance to stop these recurrent acts, which target Saudi Arabia's vital and civilian installations and threaten global energy supplies, as well as the stability of the international economy.

The UAE renewed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia over these terrorist attacks and reiterated its firm position against all threats to the Kingdom's security and stability. The UAE also reiterated its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to maintain the safety and security of citizens and residents.

MoFAIC stressed that the security of the UAE and that of Saudi Arabia are indivisible and that any threat to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is considered a threat to the security and stability of the UAE.

In Manama, Bahrain strongly condemned the launch of a booby-trapped drone by the terrorist Houthi militia towards Jazan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, causing damage to a number of residential homes and shops as a result of the flying shrapnel.

Bahrain also denounced the attack on Khamis Mushait with another drone and the recurrent targeting of civilian objects, facilities and people, in a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and all international norms.

It commended the efficiency and vigilance of the Saudi Air Defense Forces for intercepting and destroying the two aircraft, stressing Bahrain’s solidarity and its full support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its resolute measures to confront these heinous terrorist attacks. — SPA
