New COVID-19 cases in KSA stay below 50-mark for second straight day

RIYADH —
New COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia stayed below the 50-mark for the second straight day on Sunday, with 44 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, 5 more people died due to complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 546,926 and the virus-related fatalities to 8,699.

According to the ministry, a total of 58 people recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 535,950.

Riyadh reported the highest number of new cases with 11 cases followed by Jeddah with 7 cases. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom.

According to the ministry, there were 2, 277 active cases and 244 of them were in critical condition.
