Al-Sheikh: National Day can be celebrated offline under health protocols

RIYADH — Minister of Education Dr. Hamad Al-Sheikh has issued directives to the universities, institutes and colleges under the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), as well as the public education departments in various regions and governorates across the Kingdom to celebrate the 91st National Day, which falls on Thursday, Sept. 23.

The minister instructed to organize events and programs with the physical presence of attendees as well as remotely. He underlined the need to maintain total compliance with precautionary measures and preventive protocols against coronavirus when holding in-person events and programs.

The age groups of students who are allowed to attend physical programs and events as well as the health precautions for the staff of the public education departments, universities and TVTC institutions should also be taken into account, the minister said.

In his directive, Al-Sheikh underscored the importance of celebrating the National Day as it is a prestigious and proud occasion to recall the blessings of security, safety and stability that the Kingdom has been enjoying ever since its foundation by King Abdul Aziz.

He also emphasized the pride and belongingness to the great nation, as well as loyalty to its wise leadership, preserving the nation’s remarkable achievements and vast capabilities, and feeling of immense pride in its history, symbols, civilization and heritage.
