Foreign Minister, Nigeria president discuss energy market stability

ABUJA — President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria received Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan at the Presidential Palace here on Tuesday.

During the audience, Prince Faisal conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to the president, government and people of Nigeria.

Their talks figured on the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in light of the OPEC + agreement, and their contribution to everything that would achieve the stability of energy markets globally.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all fields, and the consolidation of coordination and joint action at all levels in a way that contributes to the well-being and prosperity of the two countries and their peoples.

The meeting also highlighted the remarkable achievements made by the two countries in their bilateral relations ever since the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries 61 years ago, as the Kingdom was one of the first countries to recognize the Federal Republic of Nigeria after its independence in 1960.

It was noted that the fruitful cooperation brought together the governments and peoples of the countries based on brotherhood and mutual respect.

The talks also covered the Kingdom’s regional and international efforts to preserve the planet and the content of the announcement of Crown Prince with regard to the Green Saudi Arabia and the Green Middle East initiatives.

These initiatives will chart the direction of the Kingdom and the region in protecting the land and nature with an ambitious road map.
