Participants vie for SR53mn as Crown Prince Camel Festival sees intense competition

Seven countries from different continents are participating in the third edition of the Crown Prince Camel Festival, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The camel festival, which is being organized in Taif Camel Square, has with 532 races and it got underway last Sunday.

The festival is witnessing an intense competition among several local and international camel owners for a total prize pool of SR53 million.

Ahmed Al-Badr, the spokesman of the festival’s official, said that the participating countries, include the United States, Jordan, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, apart from Saudi Arabia, adding that the participants are taking part in the preliminary rounds for all categories.

In a related context, the Saudi Camel Federation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, provided a center for coronavirus vaccines on the premises, to ensure that all participants receive immunization jabs. The vaccination center opens its doors to beneficiaries in the evening period from 6:00-until 9:00 p.m.
