MoE allocates funds to schools to prepare for new year

RIYADH —
The Ministry of Education allocated more than SR1 billion and SR147 million respectively for maintenance and hygiene contracts in schools in preparation for the new school year.

According to the ministry, 132 rehabilitation operations are to be implemented at a cost of SR207 million, while 23 restoration operations are to be executed at a cost of SR32 million.

Additional 33 operations are to be implemented to equip the buildings, at a cost of SR36 million.

The ministry also said they are working to secure the department’s warehouses for storage in all governorates and regions of the Kingdom.

The warehouses are housing more than 65,000 air conditioners and 3,600 water coolers. Meanwhile, other devices will be secured during the coming days.

The ministry has approved an additional operating budget of SR65 million in order to secure materials to enforce precautionary measures in schools.

The budget includes purchase of 25,352,772 masks, 535,478 liters of hand sanitizers, 535,478 liters of surface sanitizers, 1,392 242 liters of hand soap, 940,704 packages of tissue rolls, and 55,168 thermometers.
