KINGSTON — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), Saudi Arabia's charity arm, delivered on Wednesday medical supplies to Jamaica to help the Caribbean island combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

On behalf of KSrelief, the medical aid was handed over by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Cuba Faisal Bin Falah Al-Harbi, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday.

The aid comes as an extension of the humanitarian efforts being exerted by Saudi Arabia through KSrelief as well as in the implementation of directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman.

In an unrelated development, King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman have sent separate cables of congratulations to Governor-General of Jamaica Sir Patrick Allen on the anniversary of his country's Independence Day.

In their congratulatory messages, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince wished the Jamaican governor-general good health and happiness and the government and people of Jamaica steady progress and prosperity.
