Saudi Arabia's new COVID-19 cases and recoveries stay steady

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health on Saturday recorded 1,146 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours.

According to the ministry, 11 more people died due to complications caused by the virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 525,730 and the virus-related fatalities to 8,237.

According to the ministry, a total of 1,086 people recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 506,089.

The Riyadh region reported the highest number of new cases with 243, followed by the Eastern region with 209, the Makkah region with 196, and the Asir region with 84 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just one of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 11,404 active cases and 1,377 of them were in critical condition.
