Saudi Arabia sees 1,187 new COVID-19 cases as recoveries, deaths stay steady

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health on Friday recorded 1,187 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours.

According to the ministry, 14 more people died due to complications caused by the virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 524,584 and the virus-related fatalities to 8,226.

According to the ministry, a total of 1,176 people recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 505,003.

The Riyadh region reported the highest number of new cases with 256, followed by the Makkah region with 212, the Eastern region with 174, and the Jazan region with 118 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just one of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 11,355 active cases and 1,395 of them were in critical condition.
