RIYADH —
Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Nayef Al-Hajraf and US Special Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking have stressed the importance of putting pressure on the Iran-backed Houthi militia to end the crisis in Yemen.

During a meeting on Thursday, they called for international support for the government of Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and enabling it to play its role in achieving stability and ending the Houthis' manipulation of fuel revenues and prices, according to a statement from the GCC.

The two sides denounced the continued targeting of Saudi Arabia with ballistic missiles and booby-trapped drones by the Houthi militia.

Meanwhile, Yemeni Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik also called on international organizations to support his government to save civilians in Marib, who are being repeatedly attacked with ballistic missiles and drones by the Houthi militia, deepening the humanitarian catastrophe in the war-hit country.
