MANAMA — King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa underscored on Thursday the depth of historic relations between Bahrain and Pakistan which are based on mutual understanding, confidence, respect and cooperation.

King Hamad made the remarks as he received at Safriyah Palace on Thursday Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who was on a visit to the kingdom to participate in the Bahrain-Pakistan Joint Committee meeting.

Bahrain's king praised the outcome of the Bahrain-Pakistan Joint Committee meeting which will further enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields. He also lauded the advanced level of bilateral relations and common keenness to further consolidate them.

King Hamad also commended the role of the Pakistani community and its remarkable contribution to the kingdom’s development.

Discussions also focused on regional and international developments of mutual concern.

The Pakistani foreign minister expressed utmost thanks and appreciation to King Hamad for the gracious welcome, commending King Hamad's key role and unwavering support to cementing friendly relations between both countries. — BNA
