Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The Public Prosecution has summoned admins of a number of social media accounts who were accused of publishing marriage advertisements in ways that harm the dignity of women and offend the marital bond that is safeguarded by the Islamic Shariah and the Kingdom’s regulations.

The Department of Investigation into Cybercrimes Cases at the Public Prosecution began investigating charges framed against the holders of these accounts related to preparing and posting ads that prejudiced religious values and public morals.

This measure was taken after the Monitoring Center at Public Prosecution found in its monitoring that several social media accounts were involved in displaying content, virtual images and descriptions that were offensive to religious values and public morals especially in their marriage ads.
