Active cases fall again as KSA records 1,162 new infections, 1,386 recoveries

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health on Thursday recorded 1,162 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours.

According to the ministry, 15 more people died due to complications caused by the virus.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 514,446 and the virus-related fatalities to 8,130.

The ministry also said that a total of 1,386 people recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 495,650.

The Riyadh region reported the highest number of new cases with 285, followed by the Makkah region with 211, the Eastern region with 158 and the Asir region with 131 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just one of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 10,666 active cases and 1,362 of them were in critical condition.
