Health facilities in Makkah geared up to serve pilgrims during this year's Hajj

MAKKAH — Director-General of Health Affairs in the Makkah region Dr. Wael Bin Hamza Mutair, who is also the chairman of the Hajj and Umrah Executive Committee, visited health facilities located in the central region along with a number of health officials to monitor their readiness after the arrival of the first group of pilgrims for this year’s Hajj.

After the visit, Dr. Mutair said he had a detailed and careful look at preparations to provide health services to the pilgrims at Ajyad General Emergency Hospital, in addition to the healthcare centers located in the central region, pointing out that all the health personnel working in those facilities are fully prepared to provide health and emergency services to the pilgrims.

He called for the application of the highest health standards and global preventive measures to ensure the safety of the pilgrims until they return to their places of residence.

He urged all pilgrims to adhere to preventive measures such as social distancing, wearing a face mask and maintaining personal hygiene.

Meanwhile, the official spokesperson for the health sector of the Makkah region, Hamad Bin Fayhan Al-Otaibi, stated that the Haram emergency centers will operate 24 hours a day to provide health care to visitors and pilgrims of the Grand Mosque.

Additionally, all hospital departments and healthcare centers will work according to a plan that is in harmony with the workflow and working hours, in a manner that will not affect competency.
