MINA —
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance in cooperation with the Saudi Telecom Company (STC) will send over 3 million awareness text messages (SMS) to the pilgrims during this Hajj season, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.

Through text messages, the ministry seeks to make the pilgrims aware of the rituals, consolidate the values of Hajj, and to spread moderation within the Hajj season.

The messages will include the provisions of Hajj and Umrah as well instructions with regard to precautionary and preventive measures being carrying out by the competent authorities to prevent the spread of coronavirus during this year's Hajj.

The move is part of efforts being made by the ministry to use modern technology in this year's Hajj in order to serve the pilgrims so that they can perform their rituals easily, safely.
