Ministry of Defense reports accidental explosion at unused ammunition dump

RIYADH —
An explosion struck an unused ammunition dump located in an area southeast of Riyadh on Wednesday, Saudi Press Agency reported citing a statement from the Ministry of Defense.

According to the Official Spokesman of the Ministry of Defense, Brig. Gen. Turki Al-Malki, an "accidental explosion" occurred at 5.10 this morning at a site used for dumping “unserviceable munitions” outside of Al-Kharj City.

He added that there have been no damages and injuries from the blast and the incident is being monitored by competent authorities.
