3 big regions report over 300 COVID-19 cases as KSA sees 1,534 new infections

COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia surged past 1,500 once again on Thursday, with 1,534 new infections recorded over the past 24 hours, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The ministry also announced 13 more deaths from complications caused by COVID-19.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 489,126 and the virus-related fatalities to 7,832.

According to the ministry, a total of 1,487 people recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 469,120.

The Makkah region reported the highest number of new cases with 377, followed by the Eastern region with 337, the Riyadh region with 310, and the Asir region with 156 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just one of them reporting less than 10 infections.

According to the ministry, there were 12,174 active cases and 1,389 of them were in critical condition.
