RIYADH —
The Ministry of Health (MoH) on Wednesday said it has so far administered more than 16.8 million vaccine doses through 587 vaccination centers across the Kingdom, covering 70 percent of the total adult population in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the ministry once again sought to dispel all rumors over the safety of the vaccines as the vaccination campaign continues in full swing.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Dr. Muhammad Al-AbdelAli, the official spokesman of the health ministry, reiterated that coronavirus vaccines are safe, effective and necessary for protection.

The spokesman said that vaccines provide protection against COVID-19 and prevent virus-related deaths with a 100 percent success rate.

Dr.Al-AbdelAli further said that the curve of COVID-19 infections is continuously being monitored and things will move in the positive direction only with the continued administration of vaccines and adherence to precautionary measures.
