RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman have sent cables of congratulations to Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte on the anniversary of his country's Independence Day.

In their congratulatory messages, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown expressed their sincere congratulations and good wishes for the president and they wished steady progress and prosperity for the Philippine government and people, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.

Independence Day is an annual national holiday in the Philippines observed on June 12, commemorating the declaration of Philippine independence from Spain in 1898, according to Wikipedia.
