ADEN — The Iran-backed Houthi militia targeted the Yemeni city of Marib with ballistic missiles and explosive-laden drones on Thursday, killing at least 8 civilians and injuring dozens, the official Yemeni News Agency (Saba) reported citing medical sources.

According to the report quoting local officials, the Houthi militia fired two ballistic missiles and two armed drones targeting a mosque during the Maghreb prayers and a women's prison in the Marib governorate.

The initial death toll from the attacks is 8 but the figure is likely to increase. Women, children, and medical workers are among the dead and the injured as they came under the second ballistic missile and drone attacks while rushing to move the victims to the hospital

The attacks damaged four ambulances among other heavy material losses. — SG
