200 CBM of waste cleaned in Tarout’s mangrove forest

The Eastern Province Municipality, in cooperation with the Social Development Center in Al-Qatif Governorate, implemented on Saturday the "East is Clean in Qatif" campaign, with the participation of more than 250 male and female volunteers.

The campaign, which coincides with the International Day for Environmental Diversity, aims to spread awareness and preserve the environment, warn of the effects of its pollution, strengthen its community partnerships with volunteers, and enhance its role in aspects of social responsibility.

The campaign, in addition, raises awareness of the importance of community partnership to preserve the environment and public facilities.

The municipality said that 200 cubic meters of waste and environmental pollutants were cleaned at mangrove forest in Al-Zour neighborhood in North Tarout.

It added that the public beaches were preserved and rid of visual distortions and environmental waste.
