Coalition destroys two bomb-strapped boats in southern Red Sea

JEDDAH — The Saudi-led Arab Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen prevented a Houthi attack on Saturday after intercepting and destroying two explosive-laden boats off Yemen's Red Sea Salif Port.

"The terrorist Houthi militia continues to target civilians and threaten shipping routes and global trade by launching booby-trapped boats in a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law," the Coalition said in a statement carried by Saudi state news agency (SPA) on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates has condemned the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias’ attempts to attack civilians and civilian objects in Khamis Mushayt, in Saudi Arabia with a bomb-laden UAVs, which were intercepted and destroyed by the Coalition Forces, as WAM reported.

In a statement released by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Saturday, the UAE reiterated that these continued terrorist attacks by the Houthis reflect their blatant disregard for the international community and all international laws and norms.

The UAE Ministry urged the international community to take an immediate and decisive stance to stop these repeated acts targeting the Kingdom's vital installations and civilian facilities and security, stressing that the continuation of these attacks in recent days is a grave escalation and new evidence of these militias' aim to undermine security and stability in the region.

The UAE renewed its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over these terrorist attacks and reiterated its stance against all threats to the Kingdom's security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents. The UAE also reiterated its support for all measures taken by the Saudi authorities to maintain the country's security and stability.

The UAE Foreign Ministry also confirmed that the security of the UAE and Saudi Arabia is indivisible, and any threat facing the Kingdom is considered a threat to the security and stability of the UAE.

In Manama, the kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned the Houthi terrorist militia’s continued attacks on civilian facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a statement, the Foreign Affairs Ministry condemned the launch of an armed drone today towards the city of Khamis Mushayt, in a blatant attack on the kingdom’s sovereignty, security and stability, posing a serious threat to the security and safety of civilians.

It praised the efficiency and vigilance of the coalition forces, which were able to intercept and destroy the drone, affirming the Kingdom of Bahrain’s solidarity with sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against any actions that target its security and stability.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the need for the international community to take deterrent measures against the Houthi terrorist militia’s practices, which threaten security and stability in the region.

In Amman, the kingdom of Jordan has strongly denounced Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia's launching of two UAVs targeting the southern areas, in the Kingdom, while the coalition forces managed to intercept and destroy them.

In a statement issued Saturday, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Jordan's strong condemnation and denunciation of the continuation of these cowardly terrorist acts targeting the civilian areas, which constitute a violation of the international law and international humanitarian law, affirming Jordan's absolute stand by Saudi Arabia in addressing all threats against its security and the security of its people.

The Jordanian Ministry hailed the capabilities and competence of the Arab Coalition Forces in intercepting and destroying UAVs. — Agencies
